Today I danced with my daughter.
She spun, and I twirled. We giggled and smiled,
And I pampered her face with tender mom touches
Something I haven’t done in a while.
Today I danced with my husband,
As he spoke like a French monsieur.
My youngest joined in with an accent all his own,
We hugged and dipped. It was a night full of fun
And once again there were those smiles.
We haven’t danced like that in a while.
Today my eldest son squeezed in between us,
To dance with his mom, dad and brother.
His mood was light and his jokes made us laugh,
We danced on for miles and miles.
We held them both tight, wrapped up in our arms
Oh, I’ve missed this just having fun and reveling in
all of their smiles.
Today I danced with my youngest son,
But first he danced a few rounds with his dad.
Two peas in a pod, the two joked and played.
As the rest of us looked on with glee.
Today is a day I will tuck safe away
Lock it up in my Mom Moments file,
Because today is a day I will never forget,
Because we haven’t been a family like that for a while.
